The Alexander Technique

I have over the last two years had a significant number of lessons in the Alexander Technique as well as attending courses in this. The two people who have influenced me the most and whom I have been delighted and privileged to meet have been my Alexander Teacher Everard Peters and also Michael Hardwicke whom I have attended Summer Courses with at his School in Cumbria. I have found the Alexander Technique to be simply brilliant and I continue to be fascinated with it. It is a wonderful technique that allows one to really explore the body and its subtle relationship with the mind. It is holistic and highly complementary.

If you are based in Leamington Spa or the surrounding area, then in my opinion you could do no better than to check out Everard Peters who is a magnificent teacher of the Alexander Technique. He is able to guide one into new found areas of release and awareness. He is to be recommended most sincerely as a teacher who embodies all that is excellent in the exploration of the mind and body functioning. Above all he will get you working again the way that nature intended, so that movement and balance and other functions become easier and one feels a sense of lightness and ease again. Everard is also an Osteopath which comes in handy from time to time.

and

Michael Hardwicke - Michael is a superb and highly qualified teacher of the Alexander Technique. I have had the honour to attend some of his excellent summer courses at his wonderful school in Kendal. I highly recommend him and his team of co-teachers. The courses are fun and enjoyable and Michael and his team are able to immediately explain the Alexander Technique in an effortless manner. The workings of the body and the inter relationship to the mind are covered in detail. However, what I found fascinating was just how easy this in depth knowledge was conveyed so that learning was fun. Great people and great times.

Below is a video of Marjorie Barstow, one of the original teachers of the Alexander Technique explaining the Technique and also showing her work with her students. It is a wonderful mini documentary.
